US family office
For Private Clients who live and work across the Atlantic (either American citizens working abroad or Brits employed in the US) building a tailored, tax efficient investment portfolio is particularly challenging. In today’s heavily regulated environment understanding the appropriate tax and legal frameworks in both jurisdictions requires specialist knowledge in order to avoid the possibility of incurring severe financial penalties from the US tax authorities.
London & Capital Group is one of the few independently-owned wealth management firms to have both SEC and FSA registered businesses. As a result our dedicated US team have an in depth understanding of the issues facing families and individuals with a transatlantic footprint including the recent HIRE act and FATCA.
The London & Capital approach to wealth management has three core elements, which have been developed through over 25 years working with international private clients:
- Strategic planning – In an era defined by lower investment returns proper strategic planning has become even more important to international clients. Taking into account your domiciled status we construct and manage a portfolio that is compliant with cross-border tax and legal considerations, ensuring you are not investing in any tax disadvantageous assets.
- Investment solutions - London & Capital’s investment team has a successful record of investing throughout the business cycle, preserving and growing wealth in a steady and controlled way. Our approach is based on a long-term asset allocation framework and an investment process which is designed to enable us to adapt quickly to changing market conditions.
- Consolidated reporting – We believe in team work and that good communication is vital. We want to work as closely as possible with other professional advisers in our clients’ lives. To that end we aim to provide clear, consistent and concise reports to clients and their advisers and we make it as easy as possible to access the information you need when you need it. For transatlantic clients that is particularly important as you will need to submit FBAR (Report of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts) information in the US as well as making the usual submissions at tax year end and the end of the calendar year in the UK.
